Disciplinary regulations for students
We expect all students of Sacred Heart Convent School to conduct themselves in a gentlemanly/lady-like manner at school and out of school. They shall be polite in speech, courteous in manners, neat in person and clothes.
We expect our students to graduate successfully from school as God-fearing, loving, competent and service-minded young men and women, ready to take their rightful place in society.
Attendance on the re-opening day after each vacation is compulsory. Pupils should be in School 10 minutes before the commencement of the morning and afternoon sessions. Pupils should be regular & punctual.
At the stroke of the bell, the students should fall in line for the school assembly, in silence.
Pupils should keep their classrooms and School premises orderly and clean.
Students should speak only English in the school premises.
Pupils shall not bring to the school magazines, books and other materials of low moral standards.
Organizing fund collection by students for any purpose without written permission from the Principal is forbidden.
Attendance at co-curricular activities and drills is compulsory.
A written note from the Principal is required for a student to return home for any valid reason (or to leave the School premises) during class hours.
The following will result in the dismissal of a pupil from the school: Causing damage to school property, persistent absence, continuous neglect of duties, serious disobedience and disrespect to any Staff member, malpractice during tests and examinations, and other unbecoming behavior in and out of school.
Pupils should be responsible for the safety of their belongings and are advised not to bring any costly articles to the school.
The management reserves the right to amend or change these rules and regulations or introduce new ones according to their needs for valid reasons.
Any student failing twice in the same class will not be allowed to continue in the school.
Every student should bring his/her Handbook to the school daily.
Partnering with parents for student success
Whenever you correspond with the school about your son/daughter, kindly quote his/her full name, class and section and admission number.
All communication should be addressed to the Principal.
Parents should inform the school whenever there are changes in their addresses and telephone numbers.
No child will be allowed to leave the school premises before the class gets over unless permission is granted in writing.
Guidelines for using the school library
Strict silence must be kept in the Library.
No one must take any book from the Library before having it entered in the Library Card. Books are issued for borrowing only.
Only two books for light reading may be borrowed for a period of two weeks.
The attention of the Librarian must be drawn to the books that an intending borrower finds damaged. If the damage is detected on the return of the books, the borrower will be held responsible and must pay for it.
Failure to return a book on the expiry of the period of four weeks involves payment of a fine of ₹5 per day for the time the book is overdue. If the book is not returned after seven days, the borrower is also charged the value of the book.
Lost or damaged books or magazines must be replaced or paid for at the rate determined by the Librarian.
All books must be returned before the beginning of the Terminal and Final Examinations by a date fixed by the Librarian, otherwise a fine will be applied.
A pupil who does not pay a fine or is guilty of disobedience to the Librarian or does not behave in a responsible manner in the Library renders himself liable to suspension from the use of the Library.
